The Association for Studies of Religion AGM & Twilight Conference 2018 - Unpacking Census 2016 - What does the changing religious landscape really look like?, is designed to resource teachers in their teaching of the 1 and 2 unit Studies of Religion HSC courses.
At the AGM the Association will recognise those teachers whose students achieved First Place in the 2017 1 Unit and 2 Unit HSC Examinations.
The conference program will be presented by a number of experienced practitioners and members of different religious communities.
A keynote panel including a Christian teacher, a Jewish community representative and a Muslim community leader will be asked to respond to the questions - How are the changes in the 2016 census reflected in their communities? What changes are evident in its composition and practice?
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in Q and A with the panel.
Participants will also participate in a large group workshop to deepen their content knowledge and broaden their pedagogical practice addressing the rise of New Religious Expressions.
